Latham Hi-Tech Hybrids with the Agrisure^® GT trait exhibit outstanding tolerance to in-crop applications of glyphosate-based herbicides ― the active ingredient in Roundup and Touchdown brand herbicides. Glyphosate controls weeds by inhibiting EPSPS, a key enzyme necessary for photosynthesis. The Agrisure GT trait causes the corn hybrid to overproduce EPSPS so it can withstand applications of glyphosate with minimal damage to the crop or resulting grain.
