Alexander, IOWA — Latham Hi-Tech Seeds recently welcomed a delegation of Ukrainian seed industry professionals to its headquarters in Alexander, Iowa, as part of an international business-to-business exchange organized by the Iowa State University Seed Science Center.

The group of 16 participants—representing seed companies, research institutions and agricultural organizations across Ukraine—visited Latham as part of a two-week U.S. seed industry immersion program designed to strengthen agricultural systems and foster global collaboration.
During their visit, Chris and John Latham led a presentation highlighting Latham’s multi-generational, family-owned seed business model, with a focus on product development, dealer networks and farmer relationships. The delegation also toured Latham’s facilities, including its plant and warehouse operations, gaining firsthand insight into seed production, conditioning and distribution practices.
The Ukrainian guests engaged actively throughout the visit, asking thoughtful questions and sharing perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing their country’s agricultural sector. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange and relationship building between U.S. and Ukrainian seed industry leaders.
The delegation’s broader program includes visits to seed companies, research institutions, and industry organizations across multiple Midwestern states, with the goal of enhancing technical expertise and supporting the development of regional seed centers in Ukraine.
“We were honored to host this group and share our experience in the seed industry,” Chris Latham said. “Opportunities like this highlight the importance of collaboration and innovation in strengthening agriculture around the world.”
Latham Hi-Tech Seeds is a third-generation, seed company focused on delivering high-quality seed products and trusted agronomic support to farmers across the Upper Midwest.
