Latham® Seeds Introduces J-Class Soybeans — So Good, They’re in a Class by Themselves
Alexander, Iowa — August 25, 2025 – Latham® Hi-Tech Seeds is raising the bar for soybean performance with the introduction of its new J-Class Soybeans – the industry’s newest, highest-yielding soybean genetics.
Featuring 32 new products, J-Class Soybeans bring together advanced genetics, top-end yield potential, and strong defensive packages to help farmers protect every bushel.
“J-Class Soybeans are so good, they’re in a class by themselves,” said third-generation seedsman John Latham. “We have the freedom to choose the very best genetics for our lineup. This new class delivers exactly what farmers are asking for — consistent top yields and protection where it matters most.”
J-Class Soybeans made their debut recently at the company’s recent Dealer Kickoff in Mankato, Minnesota, where Latham® dealers gathered to celebrate the company’s “Freedom of Independence” theme and hear from industry experts, including Dr. Greg Tylka of Iowa State University. Dr. Tylka shared the latest research on managing soybean cyst nematode (SCN) — a key factor in soybean yield loss — and how variety selection plays a critical role in protecting fields.
Growing a nonhost crop, like corn in rotation with SCN-resistant soybean products, is the foundation of SCN management, Dr. Tylka said. That’s why it’s important to note that 12 of the J-Class Soybeans have received Latham’s exclusive IRONCLAD™ designation. To be designated as IRONCLAD, Latham brand soybeans must contain the resistance gene for Soybean Cyst Nematode, a gene for Phytophthora Root Rot and and high scores against Brown Stem Rot, Iron Deficiency Chlorosis and either White Mold or Sudden Death Syndrome, according to Latham’s product evaluation.
“Our independence allows us to focus on what matters most,” Latham added. “The result is a lineup like J-Class that combines elite genetics with the agronomic traits farmers need.”
Latham’s J-Class lineup spans a wide range of maturities and trait platforms, offering farmers flexibility for their specific growing conditions. Farmers interested in learning more about J-Class Soybeans can contact their local Latham dealer or check out our Seed Guide for more details.
