Baked Round Steak with Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 chopped green pepper
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 1 10.5 oz can condensed cream of chicken soup
- ¼ teaspoon thyme
- Additional vegetables, such as carrots and potatoes, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Season the round steak pieces with salt and pepper.
- In a Dutch oven over high heat, brown the meat in the oil on all sides; remove from the heat.
- Add the celery, green pepper, onion, cream of chicken soup, thyme and other vegetables (if using) to the meat mixture; stir well.
- Cover the Dutch oven and bake for one hour.
