Soybean harvest is now going full tilt across North Dakota. At this point, yields are coming in well above average. Whether it’s poor, sandy, nonproductive ground or the best in the area, the consensus is saying this might be one of the best soybean years ever across the region! The older tried and true varieties at least to this point are carrying a more favorable report than the newest releases including the latest technologies.

As far as corn goes. Farmers are just now scratching the surface and results are everywhere. From eye popping yields we have never seen before to disappointment and head scratching. We should get a better feel for what is out there by this time next week.

The fall is trending right behind the spring here. Farmers will roll from one crop to the next without a days rest. Equipment will be in the shed early this year!
