Sour Cream Raisin pie

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup Raisins
  • 1½ cups Water
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Flour
  • ½ cup Sour Cream
  • 3 Egg Yolks (save the whites)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 9” Baked Pie Shell
  • 3 Egg White (separate from yolks)
  • ¼ tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 6 Tbsp Sugar

Instructions

Directions:

  1. Cook raisins in water.
  2. Mix flour with sour cream, then add with rest of ingredients to raisins/water.
  3. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
  4. Pour into pie shell.
  5. Make meringue with egg whites, ¼ tsp cream of tartar and 6 Tbsp sugar.
  6. Drop meringue onto pie and seal to crust
  7. Brown lightly under broiler.
