Primary purpose is to increase seed sales volume by selling direct to targeted farmers or through farmer-dealerships. Successfully market the complete Latham® product lines; provide agronomic support and consultation to farmers; develop and implement annual sales and marketing plan that will deliver added value to Latham customers; execute a crop planning process to provide custom seed recommendations on a field-by-field basis; build and maintain excellent agronomic knowledge; and adapt and apply new technologies. A key responsibly is to increase sales volume "profitability" and improve margins while increasing market share.
Key responsibilities for a RSM when developing his/her focused sales geography:
- Recruit quality seed dealers
- Work with new/existing dealers to support sales, enhance product knowledge and manage accounts
- Contact targeted current customers and sell all Latham® products and services
- Identify, prioritize and contact targeted prospects
- Complete a needs assessment for each customer and prospect on a per-field basis
- Complete a customer crop plan for each customer
- Confirm crop plans with customers
- Complete a yearly seed sales forecast per product
- Enter customer data and seed orders
- Maintain and update current agronomic knowledge and practices
- Promote proper stewardship practices
- Schedule and deliver customer products
- Minimum 3 years agricultural sales experience
- Four-year college degree preferred
- CCA or a willingness to earn CCA status
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet)
