Bill Latham grew up on what is now a Century Farm near Alexander, Iowa. After earning his degree from Iowa State University, he served as a marketing agronomist for Monsanto, covering Louisiana and eastern Nebraska. In 1966, Bill joined the company his father founded — Latham Seed Company.
In his previous role as President of Latham Seed Company, Bill directed tremendous growth, turning a small retail seed farm into a large regional seed company. In his new role as Chief Technology Officer of Latham Hi-Tech Seeds, Bill is responsible for the direction and implementation of new technologies, including genetics and traits from global technology providers such as Monsanto, Bayer, BASF, DuPont, Dow AgroSciences, Syngenta and others.
Bill has served as Soybean Committee Chair, Regional Vice President and President of the American Seed Trade Association. Bill also served as past president of the Independent Professional Seed Association and the Iowa Seed Association.
